Welcome
to my online studio space
Here you’ll find paintings shaped by emotion, energy, and a sense of connection—to people, place, and time. My work invites you to pause, look closely, and bring your own meaning to the layers. It’s not about answers, but about noticing what stirs.
Art Works
This is a journey through the evolving threads of my practice—each series shaped by shifting questions, materials, and moments. I invite you to explore the work not just by looking, but by noticing what it draws out in you.
Defining My Practice.
Before the brush,
there’s the digging.
Process.
Thinking, finding,
reading, writing,
checking, changing.
Do I care enough to do this?
Bang.
We inhabit challenging times.
I don’t paint to decorate space.
I paint questions—
to ask,
to provoke,
to invoke.
Burns and churns,
exposed.
I don’t fling paint.
Journeys are imagined.
Bold colours contrast.
Layers build texture
and depth.
I add me.
So, linger a little longer,
dig a little deeper.
Let the art speak.
A flicker of hope?
I open a door.
Run through.
When my work sparks thought,
I am happy.
When it provokes some disdain,
that’s all good.
When it stirs instinct,
awareness dawns.
Conscience.
Bang.
My work works.
Pop.
Uncork the Champagne.
Repeat.

About Me
Layering Responsibility with Reflection -
An invitation to Look Again.
I’m an abstract and conceptual artist working from Endsleigh in the Tamar Valley, Devon.
For over 30 years, I ran my own company in IT and design, while also volunteering in mental health, environmental, and social contexts. These parallel paths shaped how I see the world: with empathy, curiosity, and a deep awareness of responsibility. That foundation flows directly into my art.
My work asks questions. About how we act—or don’t. About what we choose to see. About the quiet consequences of inaction. I don’t create to give answers, but to invite reflection. Sometimes the paintings are raw and expressive, sometimes layered and deliberate—but always meant to provoke thought, feeling, or pause.
I use paint, texture, and often language—poetry, fragments, commentary—as part of the process. Each piece begins in thought and ends in dialogue.
I believe that what we notice, and how we respond, matters. And that art can help us do both.
